James Brown, co-owner and creator of our barbecue sauce, made his first batch of sauce for a youth barbecue fundraiser at his church. Actually, he raised the hog, cooked it, and debuted his delicious vinegar-based sauce for that church event. Needless to say, it was a huge hit!

Since 2008, James has also held an annual dove hunt every fall where he cooks barbecue using his savory sauce. Friends quickly began requesting bottles of the sauce to take home. Word spread throughout our community and the surrounding areas of coastal North Carolina about his delicious vinegar-based sauce.

James and his wife, Janet, have prayerfully and lovingly created Carolina’s Finest in an effort to make it simpler for families and friends to prepare delicious meals together. Family meals have always been important to our family through the generations – and we want to encourage families to take time to gather around the table for generations to come.

After all, the table is where conversations happen… where life is shared… where love is expressed.
